In Baabdat, more precisely in the region of Ouyoun, the soil is dark and pine trees elevate in spectacular canopies. Not the hinder the exuberance of nature, a very simple idea will be needed. Two simple black lines, in steel for a house, with glass, burnt wood in the sou shugi ban tradition, and a textured black concrete. For the meditation volume, another two simple lines this time for a floating pavilion.
To meander, keep nature as raw as possible. And then organize a program, large bays to capture the valley view, the breeze that passes through, to sit in a courtyard, slightly shaded to read a book and listen to the water dripping in the stone fountain. To receive the ground floor, naturally extending in terraces into the garden, and three bedrooms for the parents and their children now, or later when they grow up and visit with their families to come.
A play of black on black, in its various textures, concrete cast on exposed wood planks, pine wood burnt to last, black steel and grit finish aluminium. And glass of course, as transparent as possible while keeping the performance and sustainability of the project to an optimum.
At night, super warm lighting renders the house as a hearth.
Project Status: Ongoing.
